Update 5.2.: Juyst noticed that EICPC has posted a summary on the conference.
The Finnish art review framework is out with a new issue that contains several articles from a recent conference, “Critique of Creative Industries”, arranged at Kiasma in co-operation with the European Institute for Progressive Cultural Politics. The EICPC has an intersting net journal.

Rieväkylän Ritu muistaa lauantain Tamperelaisen kolumnissaan Kostiaisen Juhan, Välimäen Paulin ja minun neljän vuoden takaista Viettelevä politiikka -teosta. Tamperelaisen näköispainos eli pdf löytyy täältä.
Ritu taitaa olla osin ironinen asettaessaa muutoshakuisen kirjamme rinnakkain Tampereen uusien pormestari-kuvioiden ja XL-ryhmän kanssa. Tosin mää oon jo niin pihalla Tampereen kuvioista, etten edes tajua mitä Ritu ajaa takaa.
Kirjan toimittanut Taava Koskinen oli tänään YLE1′n Kultakuume-ohjelmassa puhumassa alla mainitusta Nero-kirjasta. Kultakuumeen podcast täällä.

Linz is the official “friendship town” of Tampere. In 1904 the Austrian Empire was on its last legs, degenerate by most accounts. Still Linz and Vienna managed to produce and educate some of the most (in)famous political and philosophical figures of the 20th century. Two of them pose here in a common school photo.

Sotaveteraani käveli kuolemaansa tankin alla viime vuoden itsenäisyyspäivänä, sotilasparaatissa Jyväskylässä. Teolla on oman tuntemattoman todellisuutensa lisäksi valtavia symbolisia merkityksiä. Jotkin näistä merkityksistä olivat ehkä tarkoitettujakin, niin täsmällisesti itsemurhan aika, paikka ja tapa oli valittu ja itse teko tehty.
