Perjantaina 10.10.2008 klo 10.00 – 16.00, Tieteiden talo, Helsinki
Askarruttavatko open access -tekijänoikeuskysymykset sinua opiskelijana,
tutkijana, opinnäytteen ohjaajana, julkaisijana tai kustantajana? FinnOA ja
yhteistyökumppanit järjestävät seminaarin, jossa paneudutaan
käytännönläheisesti tekijänoikeuskysymyksiin open access -julkaisemisessa.
Aamupäivällä käsitellään opinnäytteiden julkaisemista ja iltapäivällä muiden
julkaisujen, esimerkiksi tutkimusartikkeleiden, julkaisemista ja
tallentamista julkaisuarkistoihin.
Seminaarin järjestävät FinnOA, Suomen tiedekustantajien liitto ry,
Yliopistopaino, Tieteellisten seurain valtuuskunta, tiedonjulkistamisen
neuvottelukunta ja Hanken.

After rising for months, oil prices are now on the decline. SPIEGEL spoke with the head of the International Energy Agency about the future of oil prices, the growing importance of nuclear power and the quantity of oil left in the world.
SPIEGEL: Mr. Tanaka, do you know what your organization predicted the price of oil would be in 2010 in a study conducted three years ago?
Tanaka: No, I wasn’t in office at the time. Tell me.
SPIEGEL: It was $35 a barrel.

The band Marillion has been using p2p tactics for some time. The new album Happiness is the Road was mainly financed by the fans by pre-ordering the album in a special version: if one made the pre-order before March 2008 one’s name will be included in the album credits. Quite cool.
Now they have a new peer/fan-driven campaign. The band released the mp3 of a song “Whatever is Wrong with You” on the net and announced a competition: make a YouTube music video to accompany the song. The video with the most views on December 1st wins the prize, and the band will also choose and award their own favourite.
This one is mine, so far.
