Citizendium announced an official launch. The idea is to be “an open wiki project aimed at creating an enormous, free, and reliable encyclopedia”; the reliability is to be boosted by “gentle expert control.” The idea is good, let’s hope Citizendium succeeds!
Reliability is good, freedom is good, too: there is room for both Wikipedia and Citizendium.
While I do not agree with the premises of the Conservapedia, which aims at a wikipedia from which the “liberal bias” is removed, I welcome it as one of the first in the class of non-NPOV wikipedias. We need more and better non-NPOV wikipedias! Let all the flowers bloom.
